Taylor Swift Was Seen Arriving in Argentina Without Travis Kelce

In mid-October, a source told Entertainment Tonight that Travis Kelce was planning to join Taylor Swift in Buenos Aires, Argentina, when her Eras tour resumed its international leg there this week. Kelce is currently on a bye week with the Kansas City Chiefs, meaning Kelce has no games scheduled or NFL work obligations keeping him in the States.

Swift was photographed arriving in Argentina Wednesday afternoon ahead of her first show Thursday. But as Page Six noted, Kelce wasn’t with her. Swift concealed herself with an umbrella while exiting her private jet.

Kelce addressed his bye week plans during Wednesday’s episode of his and his brother Jason Kelce’s podcast, New Heights. He hasn’t committed to going anywhere, as he “never like[s] to plan things” on bye weeks, he said.

“You just don’t know how healthy you’re gonna be or how you’re gonna feel whether you’re winning or losing,” he explained, via Page Six. “I’m not trying to go and fucking be out and about if we’re out here losing.”

The Chiefs, of course, have a 7-2 season at this point, so far from a losing record. That said, Kelce said his primary goal is to “get as healthy as possible going into arguably the biggest game … on the schedule [against the Philadelphia Eagles, the team for which Jason Kelce plays]. I definitely got the future in mind and got to get this body right.”

Kelce did also hint on the podcast that he could travel when asked if there’s anything he’s looking forward to during his bye week: “No, not really … I might just say ‘fuck it’ and just go somewhere nice, I don’t know. My skin’s getting real pale. I gotta go somewhere sunny.”

His brother asked if Kelce would be going somewhere south, trying to get him to tease whether he was going to Argentina. “Somewhere south…” Kelce agreed. “Closer to the equator.” He did not get more specific than that.

Whether or not Kelce attends the Eras tour in Buenos Aires, a source told People on October 16 that Swift and Kelce are committed to their relationship. “She’s the biggest star in the world, and it’s no secret dating an athlete is very tough, but they’ve been texting and talking on the phone between the pockets of time they get to spend with each other,” the source said.

“There’s not some looming date like, ‘Oh, she’s going back on tour’ and ‘his football schedule is getting crazy,’” the source added. “They’ll figure it out. He’s said it himself, he knows what he signed up for with this attention, but they’ve spent time under the radar too. They’re giving things a real try.”

Swift showed her support for Kelce over the weekend when she appeared to host a watch party for the Chiefs’ game Sunday at her New York City apartment and liked an Instagram celebrating Kelce’s team record.
