Human rights lawyer Amal Clooney already sparked a fall nails trend, but now, she’s making a good case for wearing white after Labor Day. Clooney was photographed arriving in a white suit, complete with a cropped jacket and flared pants, in Athens, Greece, yesterday. She wore the business-casual ensemble for an AI event at the Temple of Olympian Zeus.
That wasn’t her only monochromatic moment. When meeting Greece’s president, Konstantinos Tasoulas, that same day, she opted for a red look, pairing a tie top with a scarlet blazer and skirt.
Clooney is fresh off the Venice Film Festival, where she joined her husband, George Clooney, who received the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement during its opening ceremony. She wore a black ruched Haider Ackermann gown.
In June, Clooney spoke about the attention her fashion has received after she and the A-list actor tied the knot in 2014. “I used to have my work life and my personal life, and they could look quite different, and I was able to not have them mix, and then I got married and that changed quite a lot,” she said during a Cartier Dialogues event in Bangkok, via People. “And at first I was kind of conscious of that one-dimensional view where I felt like, well, I can’t be seen wearing this dress or doing this because I’m in front of a judge on Monday. But you know, it just doesn’t matter as much as living your life, and ultimately if you’re good at what you do, that is going to shine through or not. I wouldn’t allow that factor to stop me from doing things that were important for my family or for my relationship. It was easier when I could decide what kind of exposure I got. It was something new to navigate.”
