Birkenstock Goes Ballet

Estimated read time2 min read

Fashion is in a ballet phase, of that there is no doubt. But then again, when is balletcore ever out of style? Now, Birkenstock 1774 is getting on board. Today, the legendary sandal company announced its collaboration with Repetto, a heritage brand from Paris known for its ballet flats. And if my fashion editor senses are correct, these are going to be the hottest shoes of the year.

If you know fashion, you very well might know Repetto already. For more than seven decades, stylish women have been returning from French vacations with a chic pair of Repettos in tow, the ultimate IYKYK souvenir.

Pink ballet flats with double straps and bows, placed on a gingham-patterned surface.

The collaboration styles are soft and feminine, balancing Birkenstock’s trademark silhouettes with ballet-inspired colors and motifs. The collection introduces reimagined versions of the Arizona, Scala, and Opéra styles with delicate bows, buckles, ribbons, and Repetto’s signature Vichy-check lining.

Colors include matte baby pink and ink black, as well as patent leather offerings in black and cherry red. Standout items comprise a lace-up clog and slip-ons with Mary Jane straps. The shoes are destined to become fall’s most-wanted items.

The collection will launch globally on July 16 and will be available on 1774.com, Repetto.com, and at select retailers.
