Why Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Are All In: They Believe ‘This Is Their Time’

Six months into dating, and Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have already spent the holidays together, introduced their families, and been more public about their love for each other than Swift has been with anyone she has dated in the last decade. A source told Entertainment Tonight that the couple’s relationship is only growing stronger as more time passes.

They are “closer than ever before, and everyone around them can see that they’re an amazing match,” the source said. “They love being together no matter what they’re doing and appreciate the little things in life.”

The source also gave detail on what they are like in private—and why they are convinced this could be it for them: “They try to lead as normal lives as possible as a couple and are enjoying the upswing and growth in their relationship,” the source said. “They believe that timing is everything and that this is their time.”

The source added, “Their families are both on board and everyone on Travis’ side loves Taylor and vice versa. It’s a supportive dynamic all around. Their loved ones have never seen either of them so happy and hope and believe that it will continue.”

Swift herself spoke in a December interview with Time about her comfort in being more public with Kelce. “When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” she said. “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”

Swift broke up with her last longterm boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, in March after dating for six years. Swift briefly dated musician Matty Healy from May to June before she and Kelce began dating privately in July. They went public with their relationship at his Kansas City Chiefs game against the Chicago Bears in late September, and it has been a whirlwind romance ever since.

“We actually had a significant amount of time [dating privately] that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other,” Swift told Time. “By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”
