What will season 6 part 2 of The Crown be about?

Season 6 part 1 focused primarily on the romance of Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed, and the tragic car crash that led to both their deaths and to a seismic reckoning within the monarchy itself. Season 6 part 2 will switch gears (and years) to highlight the marriage of Prince Charles and Camilla, Prince William’s transition to the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, and his budding relationship with the future queen herself: Kate Middleton. In January 2020, he had expressed a plan to finish the show after five seasons. But he revealed later that via, via Deadline, “As we started to discuss the storylines for Series 5, it soon became clear that in order to do justice to the richness and complexity of the story we should go back to the original plan and do six seasons. To be clear, Series 6 will not bring us any closer to present-day—it will simply enable us to cover the same period in greater detail.”
