The National Coordinating Committee (NCC) of The Base Movement (TBM) has celebrated the Founder of the Movement, Dr George Oti Bonsu, after he received the “Excellence in Entrepreneurship and Founding the Base Movement” award at the 15th Annual Mega 3G Media Awards & Celebrity Bash in Yonkers, New York, USA.

The ceremony was held on Friday, October 23, 2026, at the UYC Banquet Hall in Yonkers, where Dr Oti Bonsu was recognised for his entrepreneurial achievements and his role in establishing TBM as a socioeconomic and political movement.

According to the NCC, the award also acknowledges Dr Oti Bonsu’s efforts to create opportunities for Ghana’s youth and contribute to shaping a new generation of national leadership.

In a statement, the NCC said the international recognition represented a significant milestone for Dr Oti Bonsu, TBM and Ghana.

It said the honour was being celebrated by the Board and members of the Movement, from its national leadership to the polling-station level.

The NCC said Dr Oti Bonsu, in his acceptance speech, dedicated the award to his wife, the First Lady of Ghana, Mrs Lordina Mahama; His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene; Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, Flagbearer of The Base Movement; members of TBM across all levels; and the late Ghanaian music icon, Daddy Lumba.

The committee particularly welcomed the Founder’s recognition of the contribution of the wider TBM membership, saying their commitment continued to sustain the Movement at the grassroots.

It said the award had renewed TBM’s commitment to promoting entrepreneurship, responsible leadership, youth employment, grassroots participation and inclusive national development.

The Movement also expressed appreciation to the 3G Media Group for honouring Dr Oti Bonsu on an international platform.

The NCC further announced plans for members of TBM to welcome Dr Oti Bonsu upon his return to Ghana.

It said a heroes’ welcome was being prepared for him at the Accra International Airport on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, to celebrate the achievement.
