Kate Middleton Takes on Harvard in a Chic Houndstooth Dress

Kate Middleton has arrived at Harvard University.

On the third day of her trip to Boston, the Princess of Wales, embarked on a solo outing to Harvard’s Center on the Developing Child, which drives research and development in order to better inform the policies affecting children who face adversity. The center has a relationship with The Royal Foundation and, more recently, The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood.

During her visit, Kate spoke to researchers about what advances can be made in science in order to better the lives of children everywhere. The conversation is part of the royal’s longtime passion for and support of the field of early childhood development.

For the outing, Kate wore a bold houndstooth dress in black and blue from Emilia Wickstead. The midi dress included a collar and a thin matching belt cinching at the waist. She paired the piece with a baby blue mini handbag, black Gianvito Rossi suede pumps, and gold Liv Thurlwell hoop earrings.

Last month, The Telegraph published an op-ed by the Princess of Wales in which she discussed the importance of nurturing children for a “healthier, happier society.”

“If we are going to tackle the sorts of complex challenges we face today like homelessness, violence and addiction, which are so often underpinned by poverty and poor mental health, we have to fully appreciate those most preventative years and do everything we can to nurture our children and those who care for them,” she wrote. “That is why I am determined to continue to shine a light on this issue and to do everything I can to secure much greater focus on those first crucial few years for the youngest members of our society—they are, after all, our future.”
