We Tried Nonfiction’s Cult Korean Perfumes—Here’s Our Full Review

“I’m a fan of scents by Dominique Ropion, the perfumer who created some of the most famous fragrances of our time. His creation for Nonfiction feels like wearing layers upon layers of cashmere, starting from your underwear to your coat. Its softness and creaminess in many forms, from the notes of ylang-ylang, to the sandalwood, and tuberose. Fragrance reviewers often have to use many adjectives to describe a Ropion scent, because they’re hard to encapsulate and this is no different. It’s floral, rich, soapy, comforting, a little bit sweet, and velvety. Cha told me that this scent is a sleeper hit, and I can see why many people are drawn to it.”—Kathleen Hou, beauty director
