Dorgu returns to United after hamstring injury

Patrick Dorgu has returned to Manchester United for assessment after suffering an injury on international duty with Denmark.

The 21-year-old was substituted after 30 minutes of Denmark’s 2-0 win over Wales in the Nations League on Sunday.

He received treatment for a suspected hamstring injury and has returned to Carrington for more tests with United’s medical staff.

Dorgu will miss Denmark’s game against Portugal and the return fixture against Wales during the rest of the international break. United are next in action against Tottenham at Old Trafford on Oct. 10.

Meanwhile, Bruno Fernandes will stay with the Portugal squad ahead of the Denmark game on Thursday despite missing their win over Norway through injury.

Sources have told ESPN that Fernandes has been managing an issue since United’s 4-0 win over Sabah FK in the Champions League on Sept. 10.

The midfielder was a serious doubt for the Premier League fixtures against Manchester City and Fulham before passing late fitness tests.

Despite struggling with injury, Fernandes could still feature for Portugal against Denmark. Portugal have another Nations League fixture against Norway on Oct. 4 before Tottenham’s visit to Old Trafford the following weekend.
