Beyond taking in the sheer architectural beauty of the city itself, there is simply nothing more thrilling than visiting the impeccably arranged designer shops, the grand department stores, or the perfectly petite vintage boutiques in the beautiful winding streets of Le Marais. Le Bon Marché
As one of Paris’s oldest department stores (founded in 1852), Le Bon Marché is a crown jewel of shopping in Paris. The interactive department store is not only an enchantingly beautiful experience by design, it’s also loaded to the brim with designer exclusives from the chic brands that call the city home. Think: Chanel, Dior, and more. Pop-ups and special events are frequent here, like the new Sacai to Go concept, spearheaded by former Colette founder Sarah Andelman, which includes special limited-edition menus and merch.
Dries Van Noten
A fashion insider favorite for a reason—Dries Van Noten’s Paris shop epitomizes the label’s intricate craft, color, and texture and fully immerses guests in the satisfyingly tactile Dries Van Noten world. The intimate location blends the beauty of the landmark 17th-century building with the eclectic nature of the brand in a way that few other boutiques manage to straddle old and new.
Rubirosa’s
This tiny shop on the Left Bank of Paris is a visual manifesto to dressing comfortably in color and shopping locally. Amidst the perfect vintage wooden shelves are all shades of saturated, vivid cotton poplin shirts, pajamas, and boxer shorts. Other wardrobe one-and-dones, like socks or little leather flats, are neatly displayed. It’s one of the few boutiques that makes shopping feel distinctly Parisian.
Dover Street Market Paris
Designed by the iconic Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons, the Dover Street Market Paris location is the retailer’s newest outpost and one of the best places in Paris to shop the most over-the-top fashion from your wildest dreams. Think: emerging designers galore and avant-garde creations from all of the Comme des Garçons family brands. There’s also a beautiful courtyard and frequent events, plus the Rose Bakery for beautiful snacks.
Nikos Koulis
If it’s high-end bling that you crave, head to Nikos Koulis’s newly opened international flagship in the quaint 8th arrondissement. The space was designed in collaboration with London-based Bureau de Change and is replete with a chic midcentury glass chandelier, as well as works from Koulis’s personal art collection.
