What Will Taylor Swift’s Wedding Glam Look Like?
Taylor Swift has had quite a few iconic beauty looks. She’s practically the face of red lipstick, and she rarely goes anywhere without her signature cat eye. Her hair has had many eras, from “Bleachella” to cascading curls. And she often uses her nails as a way to speak to her fans. “A specific way you can leave Easter eggs is on nails,” Swift told Entertainment Weekly in 2019.
Now, Swift is getting married to Travis Kelce, and the nuptials are allegedly taking place this weekend at Madison Square Garden in New York City. So far, the details of the celebration are under lock and key, but one thing we do know is that Swift’s wedding will be nothing less than grand, and that includes her beauty. Swift has cosplayed as a bride twice before in her music videos—in the 2010 video for “Mine” and in 2022’s “I Bet You Think About Me.” In both, she opted for updos with face-framing pieces (in “Mine” she even wore a white headband). For makeup, “Mine” featured a glossy nude lip and a smoky eye, and “I Bet You Think About Me” had a neutral, pared-down look.
It’s clear that to Swift, beauty is a form of communication, so it’s safe to assume that her wedding glam will hit all the right notes. While we’re not betting people, if we were to put our money on it, this is what the ELLE beauty team predicts for Swift’s wedding glam.
Makeup
“The easy answer for Taylor Swift’s wedding makeup is a red lip and a cat eye. It’s her go-to on many a red carpet and awards show. But I have a gut feeling that she isn’t going to do either for her wedding. I think if we know anything about Taylor, it’s that she has been thinking about marriage in some way since her debut album (she talks about marriage in ‘Mary’s Song (Oh My My My).’ Plus, the bridal makeup looks she went for in the ‘Mine’ and ‘I Bet You Think About Me’ videos were both minimal. Because of this, I actually think she’s going to opt for very traditional makeup. I get the impression that even though she is one of the most famous people on Earth and is getting married at MSG, she still wants the same fairy-tale wedding she did when she was a teenager. To me, that means the wedding classics—a nude lip, a romantic, neutral eye, defined lashes, and glowy skin. She might pull out her Elson 4 for the rehearsal dinner, but for the day itself, I predict she’ll go for something more low-key, like NARS Morocco, which is widely thought to be the lipstick she wore when she got engaged.” —Katie Berohn, beauty editor
Hair
“Swift has been working with hairstylist Jemma Muradian for over a decade. While she kept her blonde hair down and natural for her proposal last year, she’s recently embraced more intricate styles. At the Toy Story 5 premiere earlier this month, for example, Swift opted for a half-up hairstyle that kept her signature bangs on full display. She’s also been spotted in a handful of effortlessly polished low buns over the past few months, including at the 55th Annual Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction and while out in New York City with her fiancé, Travis Kelce. Considering Swift also wore boho updos in both of her music video wedding looks, I’m expecting her to lean into a similar style for her real-life ceremony tomorrow night. And yes, I fully expect the bangs to stay for the big day. Knowing her, I wouldn’t be surprised if Swift debuted multiple looks throughout the celebration, with her hairstyle changing alongside her outfits. She does have a reputation to uphold, after all. While I’d love to see her natural curls à la Speak Now make a return, I think it’s more likely she’ll shake out—or should I say shake off?—her updo and end the night in soft, bouncy waves on the dance floor.”—Emma Aerin Becker, associate beauty e-commerce writer
Nails
“Taylor has never shied away from fun nail colors, from the sky blue nails with cloud designs that she wore courtside at the New York Knicks Game 4 Finals match against the San Antonio Spurs to the deep maroon manicure she wore to the Songwriters Hall of Fame gala. Back in the 2010s, she was also known to wear her nails completely bare. But I am guessing that she’ll pare it back and opt for a subtle pink nail color with her classic short-to-medium-length almond nail shape. I wouldn’t put money on it because she is quite unpredictable with her manis, but I have faith in my prediction, and I’ll stand by it.”—Tasha Nicole Smith, beauty assistant
Fragrance
“Landing on the perfect wedding-day fragrance is as important as, dare I say, choosing the spouse you’ll be standing opposite to. Pardon the dramatics, but the last thing you’d want to smell like on your biggest day is a fragrance so heavy, loud, and potent that guests remember that most of all. That’s why I predict Taylor Swift’s wedding-day fragrance will lean softer than the juices she’s reportedly a fan of. According to eagle-eyed Swifties, Taylor Swift is said to be a fan of a few popular fragrances, including Tom Ford’s Santal Blush. Back in 2024, while taking photos with RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Xunami Muse at the VMAs, Muse told Swift she ‘smells good,’ to which she is seen replying that it’s ‘Tom Ford.’ While Santal Blush combines woody, spicy, and smoky notes, it’s also slightly softened by ylang-ylang. However, with intimate kisses, hugs, and conversations throughout the night, I guess that Swift will steer clear of the woods and reach for the opposite end of the fragrance spectrum: florals. Swifties believe the singer loves Viktor&Rolf Flowerbomb Eau de Parfum. I can see its delicate, feminine notes of peony, jasmine, patchouli, and rose evoking the kind of warmth and softness a blissful wedding morning (or afternoon) can bring.”—Nerisha Penrose, beauty e-commerce editor
