All About Chad Michael Murray’s Wife, Sarah Roemer
One Tree Hill star Chad Michael Murray and wife Sarah Roemer have been married for a decade. Despite their high profiles as Hollywood actors, the couple seems to lead a pretty low-key life together—probably because they don’t share much about that life in public.
What they do share is totally adorable. To mark their 10-year anniversary in September 2024, Murray posted a carousel of photos from his life with Roemer. He included a loving tribute to her in the caption.
“I hope and pray for at least 50 more anniversaries with you,” he wrote to his wife. “Till we’re old and gray… new hips, new knees, our elbow skin will be touching the ground, all the kids will think we’re senile but really we’re just f-ing with them… coz that’s what you do when you’re old and together.”
Here’s everything to know about Murray, Roemer, and their marriage.
Who is Sarah Roemer?
Forty-year-old Sarah Roemer is from San Diego originally. In her IMDB bio, it’s reported that she started modeling at 15. Two years later, she moved solo to New York after graduating high school. She began acting soon after.

How did the couple meet?
Murray was also cast in Chosen, playing Jacob Orr. The pair met on set there in 2013, and Us Weekly posted info from a source saying they were dating in August of that year.
How long have they been together?
The couple was quiet about their relationship before suddenly confirming their marriage and the fact that they were expecting a child together in early 2015. A rep told People in January, “Chad and Sarah are extremely happy and excited, and enjoying their life together.”
In an interview with E! in March that year, Murray explained, “I’m a romantic. I’m a family guy. I want that core. I tend to keep everything quiet. I love my life. That’s the part I keep for myself.”
Do they have any children?
The couple welcomed their first child, a son, in 2015. Their two daughters were born in 2017 and 2023, respectively. Murray and Roemer post photos of time spent with their kids on Instagram, but hide their faces to help protect their privacy.
Murray announced the birth of their first child on Twitter in May 2015, apologizing for missing a charity event hosted by former Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly.
“Sry I’m missin @JimKellyInc charity this year in Buffalo. My fav event 2 attend, but we’ve been blessed with a son. Gods greatest gift,” Murray tweeted.
On March 14, 2017, he wrote about the birth of his first daughter on Instagram, sharing a pic of the baby grasping his finger. He wrote in the caption, “Don’t worry little girl you can hold on as tight as you want for as long as you want, I’m already yours & I’ll never let go. I’ve now [got] two incredible women in my life. My son & I are two lucky guys.”
In August 2023, he shared in another Instagram post, “So blessed and feeling so very grateful. We’ve added to our pack with our new little girl. Everyone’s healthy and loved.”
What else has Murray said about his wife?
For Roemer’s birthday in August 2024, the actor gushed about how strong his wife is, how much he admires her as a mother, and her ability to eat Italian food.
In a 2023 interview with Parade, Murray also shared some revealing thoughts on whether he’s a romantic—and his relationship with his wife was a big part of his answer.
“You know, I gotta tell ya…probably,” he shared. “Who knows? I’m probably awful at it. But I’m a family man. I’ve got my amazing wife and three beautiful babies and that’s my pack. I’m learning to appreciate romance more and more and more.”
Murray continued, “I think when I was younger, romance was an idea to me, but now I think romance is in the little things that you never thought were romantic before. Like let’s say I work 14 hours, and I come home and I’m exhausted and usually you just want to take your clothes off and just go to bed, right? But let’s say my wife’s under the weather or I can tell she’s just run down from being with the kids all day. [I] clock in and go, ‘I got this.’ I run over and do the dishes and pick up and put the kids to bed and be like, ‘Go, go, go, go rest. I got this. We’re fine.’”
He added, “That’s romantic to me in a different way than it ever would have been when I was, say, 20. That to me is teamwork. That to me is love. That to me is what I find beautiful.”
