Blake Lively Writes Tribute to Friend Taylor Swift and Beyoncé and Their Support for Women

On Thursday, November 30, Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé premiered in London, and much like the Los Angeles premiere last week, it was heavily attended by celebrities. That included Taylor Swift and Blake Lively, the latter of whom wrote a warm tribute to both the musical super stars on Instagram.

“When I grew up, women were always pit against one another,” Lively began. “It took me until adulthood to see that the instinct for women to lift each other up to their highest potential is the norm not the exception. Most of my best friends are women who would’ve been packaged to me as threats or competition.”

She continued, “It’s our job to show younger generations the power in aligning rather than dividing. All this to say, @beyonce and @taylorswift neither of you have to be threatened by my pop stardom. There’s space for us all.”

Lively added, “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé. In theaters now…And even better than you can imagine.”

The carousel included photos of herself with both Beyoncé and Swift at the event, as well as several pics of her own look for the night, a black ensemble with sparkling silver details. At one point she wore a black blazer by Chanel.

Swift wore a sparkling gown by Balmain with a thigh-high slit and a pair of black open-toe shoes. She left her hair down and had on her signature red lip.

Swift also shared a carousel of photos from the event, posing with Beyoncé and Lively, writing, “Got invited to London by The Queen.”

Beyoncé attended the Los Angeles premiere of Swift’s Eras Tour movie in October, and Swift shared a Boomerang of them eating eating popcorn at the event on Instagram, writing, “I’m so glad I’ll never know what my life would’ve been like without @beyonce‘s influence. The way she’s taught me and every artist out here to break rules and defy industry norms. Her generosity of spirit. Her resilience and versatility. She’s been a guiding light throughout my career and the fact that she showed up tonight was like an actual fairytale.”
