THE RUNDOWN

  • Kate Middleton attended day two of Royal Ascot, marking her first time at the event since 2023.
  • The Princess of Wales wore a lemon-yellow Roksanda dress, which is actually a rewear.
  • Kate debuted the piece in 2022 and wore it for the third time today.

For the first time since 2023, Kate Middleton returned to the Royal Ascot today. The Princess of Wales chose a bow-adorned Roksanda dress in a striking statement color: lemon-yellow for the start of summer. She paired it with a Jane Taylor London hat, nude Gianvito Rossi heels, Princess Diana’s Nigel Milne three-strand pearl bracelet, and Queen Elizabeth II’s diamond chandelier earrings.

If the princess’s dress seems familiar to royal fans, that’s because it is. Kate debuted the piece in March 2022 while in Jamaica on a royal tour, then rewore it months later at that year’s Wimbledon tournament. This is her third time wearing the yellow look to an event.

Kate has long been known for her rewears. Last month, she made headlines when she rewore a 2023 Roland Mouret suit for her appearance at the University of East London.

The Princess of Wales has had a busy week. On June 15, she appeared at the Order of the Garter service, wearing a custom butter-yellow look from designer Patrick McDowell. Kate had awarded him the Queen Elizabeth II Award for British Design last May, an honor given by the British Fashion Council and the Royal Family to recognize emerging U.K. talent.

On Saturday, she attended Trooping the Colour in a pastel blue Catherine Walker coat with white trim and a Philip Treacy hat. She and her daughter, Princess Charlotte, had a sweet mother-daughter moment, wearing matching pearl bracelets. Kate had on the same Nigel Milne three-strand pearl bracelet she wore today.
