Euphoria‘s Angus Cloud Has Died at 25

Euphoria breakout star Angus Cloud has passed away at 25, TMZ reports. His family announced the news in a statement to the outlet but did not disclose his cause of death.

They said:

It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways.

Last week he buried his father and intensely struggled with this loss. The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend. Angus was open about his battle with mental health and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.

We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss.

Cloud was best known for playing Fezco on Euphoria; a casting director discovered him on the street and ultimately cast him in the Emmy-winning teen drama. The role endeared him to viewers and made him a rising star to watch.

HBO released a statement following news of his passing, telling People, “We are incredibly saddened to learn of the passing of Angus Cloud. He was immensely talented and a beloved part of the HBO and Euphoria family. We extend our deepest condolences to his friends and family during this difficult time.”

His IMDB lists past roles in The Line and 2021’s North Hollywood, plus three upcoming projects—just further indication that Cloud was just getting started.

Yet the Oakland, California native was more reserved about his success. He spoke to ELLE.com in April 2022 and demurred when asked about being considered Hollywood’s “newest/breakout/hottest” anything. “I wouldn’t say that,” he said in his characteristic chill, deadpan tone.

Cloud kept his grief over his father private, but not completely hidden. He posted about his father on July 14, writing on Instagram, “miss u breh.”
