Hailey Bieber Is Ready for an Effortless Summer

Hailey Bieber has long been regarded as a savant of minimalist style. But ask her about getting dressed for summer, and she insists the secret isn’t strategy at all; for Bieber, effortless style is exactly that.

“For summer getaways specifically, I like to keep things as effortless as possible,” the model tells ELLE. That essence is behind Bieber’s latest appearance in Calzedonia’s new summer campaign, coinciding with her new role as the Italian label’s global digital ambassador.

In the photos captured by photographer Adrian Martin, Bieber embodies “California summer” while wearing nothing but Calzedonia’s latest swim offerings—and her engagement ring, of course.

The model switches between a butter yellow triangle bikini with black piping and a nude sequin set, pieces that fit right into her go-to summer essentials: “A bunch of bikinis, good coverups, sandals, big t-shirts, baggy pants, and denim shorts are some of the must haves for me,” Bieber says.

Here, Bieber discusses her Calzedonia campaign, swimwear styling tips, and what she’s looking forward to this summer.

This campaign is all about “California cool” and modern summer glamour. What does the perfect summer day look like for you?

It always starts with a cup of coffee. My perfect summer day is always going to involve spending time at the beach. There’s nothing better.

How many swimsuits do you own—and how many are actually in regular rotation?

I don’t know how many swimsuits I own, honestly. It’s definitely a lot. I probably have around five or six in my regular rotation though.

Calzedonia is considered the bikini expert. What’s your ultimate swimwear rule or styling tip?

The fit is the most important part. Fit is everything.

When you’re on vacation, are you someone who plans looks ahead of time or dresses more spontaneously?

I’m someone that plans my looks ahead of time. I like to be organized so that I don’t have to think about it too much when I get there!

What’s your favorite thing to do by the pool or at the beach when you finally have downtime?

My favorite thing to do is to swim! Lounging by the pool is fun, but I prefer to get in the water.
