A Ghanaian basic school teacher and content creator, Sir Ola, has opened up about a challenging period in his early career, revealing that he went seven months without receiving any salary during his first posting.

According to him, the experience tested his resilience and commitment to the teaching profession.

Despite the financial strain, Sir Ola remained focused on his duty in the classroom, determined not to let his personal struggles affect the quality of education he delivered to his pupils.

He explained that the turning point came when he began to closely observe the conditions of some of his students. Many of them, he noted, came from financially disadvantaged backgrounds and struggled to afford basic learning materials and daily needs.

“I spent seven months without a salary in my first posting, but when I saw kids from financially disadvantaged backgrounds, I decided to help, especially when my salary finally came in,” he recounted.

Rather than prioritizing his own delayed needs when he eventually received his salary, Sir Ola chose to extend a helping hand to his students.

He used part of his earnings to support them with essential items, demonstrating a deep sense of empathy and responsibility beyond the classroom.
