Hailey Bieber Just Made ‘Chocolate Ganache’ Nails Fall’s Must-Try Manicure
Beauty icon Hailey Bieber famously loves a “glazed donut” nail, but she’s venturing into something darker for fall (in addition to her hair color). At last night’s Saint Laurent spring/summer 2027 show, the model and Rhode founder paired her all-black look with glossy dark nails. Can we call them “chocolate glazed donut” nails? Until her longtime manicurist, Zola Ganzorigt, posts about the look, we will call these “chocolate ganache nails,” because it sounds more fun and their high-shine finish would most likely win kudos from Mary Berry.
Manicurist Jin Soon Choi, creator of her eponymous nail brand, says that Bieber’s nails are a new take on the vamp nail trend, noting that it’s the 100th anniversary of the look, which always pairs well with the soon-to-come colder weather. “Dark nails feel so chic and classic, and different finishes make them modern,” she says. “With her black blazer, Hailey’s deep, vampy manicure looks incredibly stylish and perfect for fall.” A JinSoon shade called Theda, a translucent jelly brown-vamp that Choi also used at the Proenza Schouler show, is what she recommends to achieve the look.
ELLE isn’t alone in thinking that the color looks food-inspired. Olivia Van Iderstine, VP of education and mani trend expert for Olive & June, describes it as “brown nail fall,” saying, “This color is perfect to celebrate the launch of Rhode at Sephora Europe—like a shot of espresso for your nails!” She adds, “This is a never-fail crisp weather neutral that looks good on everyone and every nail shape.” Her advice to pick the right color is to try “a deep, cool-toned brown with less red. Really precise application and a super glossy top coat make the look ultra shiny, chic and polished.” And if you want other yummy nails, there’s “brown sugar espresso,” too. Or “cherry noir.” Or, you know, just dark nails.
