Sam Korankye-Ankrah narrates how Royalhouse Chapel evolved from a students’ fellowship
Founder and General Overseer of Royalhouse Chapel International, Apostle General Sam Korankye-Ankrah, has recounted how the church evolved from a students’ fellowship into an international church with several branches in different parts of the world.
According to Apostle General Korankye-Ankrah, the church began as a students’ fellowship called Showers of Blessings, which he formed with other young people during his student days.
The fellowship evangelised through music, drama and preaching, reaching out to other students and people in the community.
Speaking on the Upside Down show on Channel One TV on Sunday, September 27, Apostle General Korankye-Ankrah said an encounter with God while he was in Holland prompted him to return home and transform the fellowship into a church.
“During my student days, we had a students’ fellowship called Showers of Blessings and we used to evangelise through music, drama and then preaching. And when I left [for Holland] , they were still meeting and so when I had an encounter with God and I called my wife that I am coming home, I told them that our Showers of Blessings will now become a church and so they should start meeting on Sundays.”
He said the church went through several name changes before eventually becoming Royalhouse Chapel.
“When we started the church, we used to call it Abundant Life and when I came [back from Holland] , I changed it to International Bible Worship Centre and then later, we changed it to Royalhouse Chapel because we were opening new branches and we didn’t know how to call the other branches and that was why we changed the name to Royalhouse Chapel churches around the world.”
