Taylor Swift Reflects on the ‘Actual Fairytale’ of Beyoncé Attending Her Eras Tour Film Premiere

The MTV VMAs didn’t get Beyoncé this year, but Taylor Swift did. Beyoncé, whose Renaissance concert film is due out in December, was Swift’s surprise guest at her Eras Tour concert film premiere in Los Angeles last night. The two music icons posed together on the red carpet, and Swift later reflected on the significance of having Beyoncé there on Instagram.

“I’m so glad I’ll never know what my life would’ve been like without @beyonce’s influence,” Swift wrote. “The way she’s taught me and every artist out here to break rules and defy industry norms. Her generosity of spirit. Her resilience and versatility. She’s been a guiding light throughout my career and the fact that she showed up tonight was like an actual fairytale. ????????????” She shared a Boomerang of the two throwing popcorn in the theater in her post.

Swift gave a 3-minute speech in each theater for the film’s premiere at The Grove. Over 2,000 Swifties were in the audience.

She said, via Billboard, “I’ve always had fun doing this. I can’t believe I get to do music as a career. That’s crazy. I’ve always had so much fun doing it. I’ve never had this much fun in my life as I have had on The Eras Tour. It is far and away just the most electric experience of my life.”

Every person there “has been hand selected and handpicked and invited to this night because you’ve shown some type of extra support for this tour, and I appreciate that more than you could possibly know.”

Swift added that “I’m always looking out for people with elevated levels of passion, incredible senses of humor on the internet, attention to detail. These things are very important to me.”
