E.P. Church Ghana congratulates Togo’s Presbyterian Church on leadership transition

The Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana (EPCG) has joined its sister church, the Église Évangélique Presbytérienne du Togo (EEPT), in giving thanks to Almighty God for His faithfulness throughout its transition of leadership.

In a goodwill message, the EPCG extended profound appreciation and heartfelt congratulations to the 16th Moderator of the EEPT, Rev. Dr. Daniel Akotia Mawusi, for his dedicated service, steadfast leadership and commitment to the unity and advancement of the Church.

The Church prayed that as he hands over the sacred responsibility entrusted to him, the Lord will richly replenish his strength and continue to bless his ministry, quoting Matthew 25:23: “Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord.”

The EPCG also warmly congratulated the newly inducted 17th Moderator, Rev. Dr. Yaovi Mawunya Fidèle Nayo, on his significant call to ecclesiastical leadership.

The statement prayed that the Almighty will grant the new Moderator wisdom, knowledge, understanding, discernment, courage and grace to steer the affairs of the EEPT according to God’s will, referencing James 1:5: “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”

The EPCG further asked God to grant Rev. Dr. Nayo the heart of a shepherd, the vision of a servant-leader, the humility to listen, the courage to act and the grace to unite God’s people, expressing hope that his leadership will strengthen fellowship, deepen the spiritual life of the Church and inspire a new generation, citing Hebrews 10:24.

As a sister church within the Presbyterian and Norddeutsche Mission family, the EPCG assured the EEPT of its prayers, fellowship, support and solidarity, stressing that it stands with the Togolese Church all the way into a future of peace, unity, growth and fruitful mission.

They, however, congratulated both the outgoing and incoming moderators and the entire EEPT family, declaring, “Unless the LORD builds the house, they labour in vain who build it – Psalm 127:1. May Christ remain at the centre, the Holy Spirit the guide, and the glory of God the ultimate goal.”
