Rihanna’s Super Bowl Halftime Show Trailer Is a Good Tease

Rihanna’s Super Bowl performance is now officially less than a month away, scheduled for February 12. To celebrate, she and Apple Music released the first trailer for her headlining set. The video is short but full of high fashion, featuring Rihanna strutting in a real look (featuring a luxurious coat by Area) while voices in the background discuss how long she’s been away from music. The message of the trailer is clear: She’s back, so get hyped for the concert.

Not much is known about Rihanna’s halftime show at this point. However, the star discussed her nervousness for the show to Entertainment Tonight during a red carpet interview in November.

“I can’t believe I even said yes,” she said. “It was one of those things that even when I announced it, I was like, ‘Okay, I can’t take it back. Now, it’s like final.’”

“The Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world, it’s an entertainer’s dream to be on a stage like that,” she continued. “But it’s nerve-racking. You want to get it right. You know, everybody’s watching. And they’re rooting for you. And I want to get it right.”

Rihanna described the opportunity as a “now or never” challenge, especially as she recently became a mother, welcoming her and A$AP Rocky’s son in May last year.

“Nothing would have gotten me out of the house if it wasn’t a challenge like that,” Rihanna said. “You could get real comfortable being at home as a mom, [so this is] challenging myself to do something that I’ve never done before in my career. I have to live up to that challenge.”
