Whoever said a beach tote can’t double as a travel bag has clearly never met Dua Lipa. During a recent trip through the winding terminals of JFK Airport in New York, the pop star made the case for the beach tote as bona fide carry-on luggage—and a decidedly massive one at that.
Dua, who often prefers an Hermès Birkin as her travel companion, opted for a massive raffia Chanel tote complete with nautical stripes and a prominent interlocking “CC” detail. She paired the bag with pointed-toe heels, frayed low-rise jeans, and a Breton stripe pullover.

The statement piece hails from Matthieu Blazy’s sun-soaked cruise 2027 collection for Chanel, presented in Biarritz, France, in April. The lineup leaned into house signatures with a playful twist, with a seaside current running through it all: retro beachwear, nautical stripes, and fish-scale embellishments.
Dua’s maxi bag was shown in a handful of colorways, like the sunflower yellow and burgundy striped tote seen on model Mona Tougaard.
