Megan Roup Is Making Movement Feel Joyful Again

A workout should be something you anticipate. It should be a small, energizing part of the day that makes you feel stronger and more confident, Megan Roup, the founder of The Sculpt Society, says.

This philosophy is one that the former dancer brings to everything she does, from daily wellness to her wardrobe, not just exercise. In fact, it’s the foundational on which she built The Sculpt Society in 2017. At a time when the fitness scene was highly prescriptive and overly intense, she saw an opportunity to offer something different. So Roup started teaching classes in rented studio spaces around New York City and eventually launched The Sculpt Society app in 2019.

“Fitness was so serious for so long, and I wanted to make working out fun again—a place where women could come, experience joyful movement, and leave class feeling like their most confident selves,” she says.

Now, Roup is bringing that same approachable philosophy to her latest project with lululemon: the Megan Roup Edit, a curated selection of pieces designed to move through workouts and the rest of life with equal ease.

A Partnership Built on Community

“I’ve loved lululemon for years,” Roup says. “We’ve worked together in smaller capacities, and it became more and more evident that it would be such a natural partnership. We both value community so much, and bringing both of our communities together was really important to us.”

To celebrate the launch, lululemon and The Sculpt Society (TSS) are coming together during NYFW for an immersive studio experience from September 10 through 12, featuring sculpt classes led by Megan and fellow TSS instructors, along with wellness recovery experiences and community connection. This in-person experience brings together community, confidence, and a workout designed to feel as joyful as it is effective. Public registration is open for $40, with all proceeds benefiting Girls Inc. NYC. You can register to participate HERE.

“What lululemon has done so well is provide pieces that move with you throughout your day.”

For Roup, this philosophy extends to what she wears, and she credits lululemon with helping women see performance apparel as clothing that can support an entire day—not only the hour spent exercising.

“What lululemon has done so well is provide pieces that move with you throughout your day,” Roup says. “You can take a beautiful activewear set, layer it with an oversized jacket, and move to coffee, a meeting, or school pickup.”

Inside the Megan Roup Edit

The Megan Roup Edit is less a traditional capsule wardrobe than a look inside Roup’s real routine. It combines longtime favorites with new pieces from lululemon’s fall 2026 collection, selected according to one essential criterion: She genuinely wears them.

“It’s a mix of my go-to styles with some of their newer pieces,” Roup says. “They’re items I actually teach in, travel in, and live in. I wanted it to feel like you were peeking into my real closet.”

Among her picks are a Groove Yoga Bra and coordinating striped legging in True Navy. The stripe adds the kind of playful styling detail that can change the energy of an entire workout look. “It’s so fun for me,” Roup says. “It’s true to my own style, and it makes me want to teach in it.”

She also reaches for the Smooth Spacer Zip-Up, styling it with a Flow Y Bra and Groove Striped Short. It’s the kind of combination that works while she’s teaching but feels polished enough to stay on for everything that follows. “I can go to a meeting with the jacket on or go to school pickup,” she says. “These are things that I can really, truly live in.”

Another standout look pairs a layered short with a cropped legging—a silhouette influenced by Roup’s dance background. “Especially in ballet, there’s the art of layering, as I like to call it,” she says. “I really loved styling it that way.”

That sense of freedom comes through in her Edit. Rather than treating performance and personal style as separate considerations, the collection makes room for both.

A Simplified, Joyful Existence

The versatility of Roup’s lululemon Edit reflects her desire to remove friction from both getting dressed and working out. Its coordinated pieces can be worn together in different combinations, creating an intuitive wardrobe for women already managing full schedules.

“Aren’t we all decision-fatigued?” Roup says. “How can we make it easier for women to look at their closet, get excited, and know that things can pair back to each other?”

The goal is to choose an outfit once and trust it to carry you from a workout to coffee to running errands—without sacrificing performance, comfort, or polish. “I want it to be simplified, and I want it to feel good,” Roup says. “I want to leave feeling like my most confident self, whether it’s in my activewear or my workout.”
