Dan Levy created the massive hit Schitt’s Creek, then took a long break from running the show. He returned this month with the comedic crime thrillerBig Mistakes, co-created with I Love L.A.’s Rachel Sennott.
The show stars Levy as Nick Dardano, a pastor, and Taylor Ortega as Morgan Dardano, two siblings from New Jersey who end up embroiled in an organized mob scenario after Morgan steals a necklace for their ailing grandmother. Things only escalate from there, and the season finale dropped a huge reveal that will continue to change the direction of the Dardanos’ lives.
Fans are already hoping for a season 2 of Big Mistakes. Here’s what we know so far. Beware: spoilers ahead.
Has Big Mistakes been renewed for season 2?
Not yet. But Levy has hinted that he is ready and willing and that he has even been planning on more seasons.
During the show’s premiere, he told TV Insider, “Oh, I know exactly what I want to see in the second season of the show. A lot of the show is written in my head at this point. All I know is that if we are given the opportunity to tell a second season, it’s going to be bigger and better, and I can’t wait to get back to the writer’s room because we have a big old story to tell.”
In an interview with Variety published on April 11, he was asked about his plans so far. He replied, “There is a very pre-planned criminal path that has already been laid out. We just need the opportunity to get there.”
When asked what that would mean for Morgan and Nicky, he answered, “A Season 2 would just be: There’s no way out now.”
What would Big Mistakes Season 2 be about?
At the end of season 1, Nicky and Morgan find out that Morgan’s future mother-in-law, Annette, is the Italian crime boss who has been psychologically terrorizing them throughout the season. Though Levy has been tight-lipped on specifics, a second season would likely be about the ramifications on the new twist in their family dynamics.
Who would star in Big Mistakes Season 2?
Levy and Ortega would probably be there as the show’s leads, plus season 1’s Laurie Metcalf, Elizabeth Perkins, Boran Kuzum, Jack Innanen, Jacob Gutierrez, and Abby Quinn.
