Jennifer Lopez and Jennifer Garner Had No Public Reunion at the Golden Globes

Jennifer Garner and Jennifer Lopez were both presenters at this evening’s Golden Globes, but they managed to go the entire night without photographers capturing any public reunion. Garner presented early in the broadcast, while Lopez came on later.

Garner and Lopez have a shared ex-husband, Ben Affleck, and have largely kept their relationship with each other private. Garner recently said she wouldn’t answer questions about Affleck and Lopez’s divorce, telling Marie Claire UK that she doesn’t engage with tabloid coverage: “It doesn’t serve me to take in gossip about myself or anyone else, much less my kids, so I don’t do it.”

In the same interview, Garner said she was amazed that she and Affleck are in a good place following their divorce 10 years ago. “So much about my life surprises me,” she said. “That I’m still working, that I’m still alive, that my kids are healthy, that my work relationships—which are more like familial friendships—are still the same as they were 25 or 30 years ago, but richer and deeper and stronger. It’s all a gift. I just feel so grateful to my job for giving me these people.

“And then, yeah, that I’m able to co-parent at this point in time with peace and equanimity and a partnership that I didn’t know I would ever get back to,” she continued. “I think it’s important for women to know, when they think, ‘Oh, I’ll never see that, I’ll never have that feeling, I’ll never be friends with this person again,’ [that] time is the opportunity. Time is the opportunity to heal. Time is the opportunity to forgive, to move on and to find a new way to be friends.”

Lopez, meanwhile, praised Garner publicly in her December 2022 Vogue interview, calling the star “an amazing co-parent, and they [Affleck and Garner] work really well together.”

Last April, a source told Us Weekly that the two actresses are friendly. “[They] have spoken a couple of times,” the insider said. “Jennifer is one of the few people J.Lo trusts.”

A month before, a source gave People similar intel: “I think the two Jens are great admirers of the other, and I think they’re all co-parenting. There is no animosity. They are friendly. We’re always pitting women against women. In this case, it’s just not the truth.”
