Taylor Swift’s friend Gigi Hadid had a big night at this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, but Swift and her fiancé, Travis Kelce, chose to support her from afar and spend their Wednesday out of the spotlight. Neither the singer nor Kansas City Chiefs player was spotted at the New York City fashion show.
Swift was last seen in Kansas City, Missouri, where Kelce is in the middle of his NFL season. The singer attended his game on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium and made her first on-camera appearance of the season. He’ll be playing again this Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders.
She also just wrapped up her release-week press tour for her new album, The Life of a Showgirl.
Swift and Kelce didn’t attend the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show last year either. Hadid told Entertainment Tonight in a backstage interview why the couple was missing it, noting Kelce’s football schedule.
“I think if they have one more night before he goes back [to practice], they’ll probably be cozy on the couch, that’s just my guess,” the model said. “But she will also be supporting [me from afar], I can feel it.”
Swift has previously performed at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, having graced the stage in both 2013 and 2014.

She’s also adept at staying out of the spotlight when she chooses, something she appears to be doing this week. Swift told BBC Radio 2’s Scott Mills recently that she is good at “entering and exiting building without being seen. Just put me in a garbage can, roll me, I don’t care. Honestly, I can fit in like, a purse. Sometimes I just can’t deal with it [the paparazzi and attention] and in those times, I won’t deal with it. I’m just digging tunnels under every building I go into, airlifting in through the skylight.”
