Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner Seen on Date Amidst Break Up Rumors

Last weekend, just before the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty, a fan snapped a picture of Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet seemingly on an ice cream date, wearing some baggy disguises in an attempt to remain low key. The photo was taken amidst rumors that the pair have broken up, since they have infrequently been seen together in public in the last few months.

In the photo, shared by The Sun, Jenner is wearing a gray hoodie under a leather jacket and carrying a large brown tote over one shoulder. Chalamet is similarly clad in a hoodie, this one in black, plus a black mask over his face. The Willy Wonka actor appears to be ordering for the couple.

Both Chalamet and Jenner have been seen at public events during this awards season, but not pictured together since the Golden Gobes in January which they attended as a couple.

Jenner was asked about her relationship in an interview with the New York Times earlier in March. The Kylie Cosmetics founder discussed her style when she was asked if she had changed hers while in a relationship with Chalamet.

“I don’t know how I feel about it, I just don’t want to talk about personal things,” she responded. “I wouldn’t say my style is affected by just one person, but rather who I am and what I feel comfortable in. It’s definitely evolved over time and I’m sure it will continue to!”

The roundabout answer fueled the rumors that the couple had split. But a source told the Daily Mail on Friday that they pulled back from public appearances because of the coverage their Golden Globes kiss got and his fear it would distract from the release of his new movie, Dune 2.

“His career is taking off and he wants to protect it and let it thrive based on his talent— not who he is or isn’t dating,” claimed the insider. “He also wants to protect his relationship with Kylie.”

The source added, “They are still dating. But Timothée has decided to keep a low profile with Kylie, mainly because he wants Dune 2 to get all the attention and for the movie to speak for itself. Zendaya and others from the film have also refrained from flaunting their relationships during the press tour, because they want the movie to be its own thing and not have any outside drama or distractions ruining that.”

Jenner supposedly understands.

“She knows that he thinks the world of her, and she gets the person that he is personally and the person he wants to be professionally,” said the source. “Maybe a year from now when Dune 2 starts getting nominated for things, he will be more relaxed about being out with her and attending more red carpets together. But as of now, he is keeping the relationship close to his chest and Kylie is fine with that.”
