Travis Barker Reveals the Name of His and Kourtney Kardashian’s Son and Her Due Date
Travis Barker made a rare move that barely any celebrities make: He revealed the name that he and Kourtney Kardashian plan to give their son before his birth. The drummer spoke on the One Life One Chance podcast about the choice, along with when Kardashian is due to welcome their baby.
Barker confirmed the baby name rumors in the interview, saying he and Kardashian really do intend to name their son Rocky. As for her due date, Barker said, via E!, “It’s either Halloween or like the first week of November.”
In July, Barker said that he and Kardashian were thinking of the name Rocky. Regarding the inspiration, he explained that the name is a tribute to Suicidal Tendencies guitar player Rocky George.
Barker and Kardashian have handled their pregnancy much differently than other Kardashian-Jenners. The couple was quick to share their baby’s sex after announcing they were expecting. Kylie Jenner, in contrast, completely hid her first pregnancy and did not reveal she was expecting a baby girl until after Stormi, her oldest daughter, was born.
Barker and Kardashian allowed parts of their fertility journey be filmed for The Kardashians, too. Earlier in October, Kardashian spoke to Vanity Fair Italy about how baby Rocky was conceived naturally. Addressing criticism of her expecting in her 40s, Kardashian said, “Those comments don’t affect me. To those who make them, I just say: ‘How could you question God’s plan?’ Because that’s how I see this pregnancy. It arrived when both Travis and I no longer even thought about it, and when I had stopped fertility treatment.”
“The decision to try [IVF] was almost a non-choice, in the sense that I was pushed towards it as if it were the only option,” she added. “The truth is, I felt like I was doing something that wasn’t right for me. My intuition was telling me that it wasn’t suitable for me—I don’t even take medicine, imagine—that it was working against my body rather than for it.”
“I knew deep down that it wasn’t the right thing,” she added. “I kept telling Travis: ‘If we’re meant to have a baby, then it’s just going to happen.’ And that’s how it was. When we stopped forcing the process, then it happened.”
