Selena Gomez Put a Stylish Twist on Cozy Fall Layering at a Lakers Game

Selena Gomez, a celebrity known for her great coat collection, paired two jackets for one standout look. Gomez was photographed at the Los Angeles Lakers game last night, wearing a leather coat over a jean jacket. She wore a black sweater under both layers.

That same night, Gomez posted on Instagram to explain why she was taking a social media break due to the ongoing Israel-Hamas war. She shared:

I’ve been taking a break from social media because my heart breaks to see all of the horror, hate, violence, and terror that’s going on in the world. People being tortured and killed or any act of hate towards any one group is horrific. We need to protect ALL people, especially children, and stop the violence for good. I’m sorry if my words will never be enough for everyone or a hashtag. I just can’t stand by innocent people getting hurt. That’s what makes me sick. I wish I could change the world. But a post won’t. Love, Selena.

Earlier this month, Gomez spoke to Fast Company about the responsibility she feels having a platform, and how it impacted her decision to go public with her bipolar disorder diagnosis.

“I had a responsibility at a very young age—young people were looking up to me,”
she explained, reflecting on her Disney Channel fame. “I didn’t know who I was. Having that responsibility would make me walk on eggshells a lot. I thought maybe it would be damaging to tell people who I am. It started to become a threat that freaked me out. Well, if you’re not right, then you can’t work.”

During the time she got diagnosed, “I went through a really hard season. It was my highs and my lows, and I didn’t know what to do, so I couldn’t control it. I would want to cancel things. It was just a tormented feeling. That’s why, when I found out my diagnosis, it was just, ‘Oh, okay, I feel a bit relieved, I understand a bit more.’ I got second opinions. I went to doctors. I’m fortunate enough to be able to have people who can help me survive every day.”
