How Natalia Bryant Is Continuing Her Father’s Legacy

Natalia Bryant is taking things one step at a time. As the face of UGG’s new “Feels Like UGG” campaign—which is all about self-reflection and self-love—the 20-year-old USC student and model says life is “all about appreciating the growth and lessons that have gotten you to where you are and embracing your best self.” Below, she talks exclusively with ELLE.com about the campaign, navigating difficult moments, and continuing her father’s legacy.

On partnering with UGG

“I’ve always loved UGG as a brand. I’m obsessed with their shoes, because they’re the perfect mix of comfort and style. You don’t need to sacrifice looking good to feel comfortable, because their designs are so cute.”

On continuing her father’s legacy of mamba mentality

“Mamba mentality is about constantly trying to be the best version of yourself. It’s putting your best foot forward at all times regardless of all the noise. I want to make sure that mentality stays intact, because it can be so easy to give up on yourself when things get tough. You have to remind yourself that with positivity and resilience you can do anything.”

On navigating difficult moments

“I bring myself out of tough times by focusing my energy on the things that bring me happiness. I spend time with the people I love, like my family. I hang out with my friends, or listen to my favorite music. I do things that bring me peace and that put me in a much better headspace. I think it’s important to focus on the positive aspects life has to offer.”

On self-care

“I practice self-care in lots of ways. I like to work out, read, and watch my favorite comfort movies. Really anything that lets me relax and wind down is self-care to me.”

On the reassurance of having a routine

“I always start the day off by making my bed. It’s such a small thing, but it really sets the tone for the rest of the day. Then, I do my skin care routine and eat breakfast before tackling the day ahead.”

On the importance of support systems

“My family is my rock. My mom and my sisters are amazing, and I can always lean on them for support. I also have amazing friends and mentors that I love who I know I can count on.”

On staying true to yourself

“Be yourself always. You feel the best when you stay true to yourself and what you believe in, so express yourself the way you want to, regardless of what others may think.”

On self-expression

“I love to express myself through fashion. Everyone has their own unique style, and I love to put my own twists on my looks that speak to my personality. Whether it be with clothes, shoes, or accessories, I think fashion makes a statement about your confidence and sense of individuality.”

On growth and self-love

“To me, self-reflection really means taking a step back and looking at how far you’ve come. It’s about appreciating the growth and lessons that have gotten you to where you are and embracing your best self.”
