Beyoncé Reportedly Celebrated Her 42nd Birthday With a Private Island Vacation

Beyoncé offered her fans a generous look at her 42nd birthday festivities, sharing black-and-white photos of the celebration on Instagram. Beyoncé’s actual birthday, September 4, fell on one of her Inglewood, California, Renaissance World Tour concert dates, and a lot of celebrities, including Meghan Markle, attended the show. (Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet even made headlines for going public with their relationship there.)

Behind the scenes, Beyoncé received balloons and an impressive disco ball-adorned cake. She also got “B”-shaped white roses.

But the festivities did not stop there. TMZ learned that in between performances, Beyoncé and her family jetted off for a private island birthday vacation with friends in the French Polynesia. Multiple sources “with direct knowledge” told TMZ that Beyoncé rented a spot in Mermaid Bay at The Brando resort. Her group came on September 5 and stayed through September 8.

Beyoncé, Jay-Z, and their children Blue Ivy, Rumi, and Sir, stayed in a four-bedroom villa that rents for $20,000 a night, TMZ reported. Other friends stayed in different villas during the trip. Here, a glimpse at the island they stayed on:

No intel has surfaced on what exactly Bey and her friends did on location, as it should be. Beyoncé is very skilled at keeping her private life private.

The singer returned to work on Monday night when she performed in Vancouver. She is set to perform in Seattle this evening.

Beyoncé chose not to go to the MTV VMAs in Newark, New Jersey, on Tuesday night. While the singer was up for the Artist of the Year award, Taylor Swift took the honor. Given the show recognizes music videos, and Beyoncé has yet to release any visuals for Renaissance, she didn’t receive any nominations in other categories.
