Francia Raisa Talks About Rumored Selena Gomez Beef After the Pop Star Shared Birthday Wishes

On Thursday, July 27, How I Met Your Father star Francia Raisa was questioned by reporters about the recent post from Selena Gomez celebrating Raisa’s birthday. The pair were rumored to have been in a feud over the last few years, but it appears Gomez wanted to show support for her friend on social media again.

“There’s no beef, guys,” Raisa told TMZ in response to questions. “I got so many great birthday messages. I really, really appreciate everyone… You know, it’s a new year.”

Just the day before, Gomez’s carousel of photos surprised her fans. In the caption, she wrote, “Happiest of birthdays to this special human being. No matter where life takes us, I love you.”

In one picture, the friends are drinking champagne in the back of a carriage and smiling at one another. In the second, Gomez is hugging Raisa from behind as they look at the camera. And in the third they have their arms around one another as they pose in a rose-lined stairway.

Just after the post, Raisa re-followed Gomez on the platform, indicating some sort of behind-the-scenes reconciliation as well. They’ve known one another since 2007, and Raisa famously donated her kidney to Gomez in 2017. The organ donation helped Gomez after her lupus diagnoses.

At the time, Gomez thanked Raisa online, writing, “There aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me. I am incredibly blessed. I love you so much sis.”

In 2022, they seemed to have a conflict after Gomez called Taylor Swift her “only friend in the industry” during a Rolling Stone interview. At the time, Raisa appeared to respond to the statement by writing “interesting” on the quote.

“Sorry I didn’t mention every person I know,” Gomez wrote in response in the comments of a post made by a fan on the rumored feud.
