When to Catch New Episodes of White House Plumbers

After satirizing all of Washington with the fictional presidency of Selina Meyer, Veep co-creator David Mandel has turned his attention to a very real presidential fiasco: the Watergate scandal. That’s the premise for White House Plumbers, a new HBO limited series starring Woody Harrelson and Justin Theroux as E. Howard Hunt and G. Gordon Liddy, Nixon’s political saboteurs and the minds behind the infamous scheme gone wrong.

The sharp and funny retelling (though parts are slightly changed for dramatic purposes) follows former CIA agent Hunt and former FBI agent Liddy as they form a special unit to prevent leaks from the White House. The real-life operation was originally codenamed Odessa but became widely known as the “plumbers”—because they fix leaks, get it?

Harrelson and Theroux make a fantastic lead duo, even as morally questionable, fumbling government agents; but they’re also joined by an impressive cast including Lena Headey (as Howard’s wife Dorothy Hunt), Judy Greer (Gordon’s wife Fran Liddy), Domhnall Gleeson (White House counsel John Dean), Ike Barinholtz (Nixon aide Jeb Magruder), and Kiernan Shipka (Howard’s daughter Kevan Hunt).

The series is created, written, and executive produced by former Veep and Late Show writers Alex Gregory and Peter Huyck while Mandel directs. Theroux and Harrelson are among the EPs, too.

When do new episodes come out?

New installments drop Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and begin streaming on HBO Max at the same time. The first episode is already available, which you might’ve understandably missed on Met Gala night.
