Rihanna’s Pregnancy Travel Style Is a Simple Crop Top, Sweatpants, and Camo Jacket
As more celebrities get into New York City for Monday’s Met Gala, Rihanna threw a curveball and flew out. The pregnant singer was photographed taking a private jet out of the city early Thursday with her boyfriend A$AP Rocky and their son, who turns one next month. Rihanna wore a Loewe crop top, sweatpants, and a camouflage and denim coat. She accessorized with white sneakers, sunglasses, and a baseball cap.
Rihanna hasn’t confirmed or denied she’ll be attending the Met Gala for its “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” theme. But she did stir up rumors with her Paris trip last week, where she was photographed wearing a vintage patchwork Fendi coat that Lagerfeld designed. It is unclear where Rihanna and her family traveled to today, but there still remains time for her to travel back if she will be at Monday’s fashion event.
Throughout both her pregnancies, Rihanna has sought to dress colorfully and push the envelope of what maternity dressing looks like. She told Bustle in March 2022, while pregnant with her first child, that she was trying to be “maybe…rebellious? When I saw women dress during their pregnancy [in the past], I’d think that that was the only way. So I challenged myself to push it further and really just have fun with [maternity style]. Because there’s nothing more fun than a challenge for me. Like that’s where I get creative. That’s where I’m forced to come up with new ideas and new ways to make it work.”
She added, “It’s been me personally saying, ‘I’m not going to buy maternity clothes. I’m not gonna buy maternity pants, jeans, dresses, or [do] whatever society told me to do before.’”
