But it’s also great for those of us who are—how can I put this?—live-in-the-moment-type folk. Why? Because while some fashion lovers are trend forecasting based on the runways, you can get an idea of what’s hot right now based on what people are wearing in the streets.
This New York Fashion Week, that’s exactly what I did. In between shows, previews, and meetings, I surveyed the sidewalks to see what fellow fashion insiders were wearing to said shows, previews, and meetings. The results did not disappoint. Modern Minimalist
I love when people get back to basics. Here’s proof that a white poplin shirt and crisp denim are infallible. Accessorize with jewelry, shoes, and a shoulder bag, then finish off the look with a pair of flat-top sunglasses for a touch of trendiness in an otherwise timeless ensemble.

Capris forever! This is one fashion comeback that I hope never fades away. This street-style trendsetter artfully paired her sleek pedal pushers with a voluminous top that pulls focus without stealing the show.

Sometimes, you just need one key piece to build your entire wardrobe around. Good outerwear is like that. You can stick to staples everywhere else, like your go-to white camisole and favorite pair of jeans, and let the jacket be the moment.
