Blake Lively Debuts Auburn Hair and Cleverly Confirms It Ends With Us Casting News
Blake Lively pretty much confirmed that she was cast as Lily in the film adaptation of It Ends With Us. Shortly after Deadline reported her casting, Lively shared an Instagram Story of herself with red hair, set to Smashing Pumpkin’s song “Lily (My One and Only).” The character she’ll play also has red hair, so this is very on the nose.
What’s less clear is when the photo was taken (it looks a bit like her auburn hair from when she was in The Rhythm Section) and if Lively dyed her hair or is just wearing a wig.
It Ends With Us is Colleen Hoover’s 2016 novel, which skyrocketed in popularity the past few years in part due to TikTok’s thriving BookTok community. It details Lily’s relationships with Atlas, her first love, and Ryle, her new love, whom she meets after moving to Boston post-college. It’s worth noting that the story isn’t exactly a light, love-triangle rom-com; it’s heavier, portraying domestic violence and abuse.
Lively will star opposite Justin Baldoni, who is also directing the film. Both are executive producing, and Christy Hall is writing the screen adaptation, per Deadline. It is unclear when the film will begin shooting.
Lively has kept a relatively low profile as she’s enters the later stages of her fourth pregnancy. Neither she nor her husband Ryan Reynolds have shared whether or not she has welcomed their new little one. Lively last shared a pregnancy photo of herself on January 2.
