Leonardo DiCaprio Was Reportedly ‘Dropping Hints’ He’s Over the Playboy Lifestyle Amid New Gigi Hadid Romance

Leonardo DiCaprio and Gigi Hadid’s romance is, in fact, on, to the surprise of some of their friends, Us Weekly reports, but make no mistake: DiCaprio being ready to date a woman over the age of 25 is a signal that he may be able to move beyond his decades-long playboy phase, a source told the outlet. DiCaprio is 47, while Hadid is 27.

“Leo plays it down but there’s no denying he does have a type, or he has until now,” the source said, referencing DiCaprio’s infamous past history of never dating a woman over the age of 25. “But at almost 48 he’s mellowing out a lot more and dropping hints to his buddies that he’s way less interested in that playboy lifestyle.”

The source detailed what DiCaprio sees in Hadid explicitly and why he “always had a soft spot” for the model during their years running in similar social circles. “He thinks she’s beautiful of course but also a wise and cool character who’s got a very cultured and educated take on life,” the source said. The pair’s mutual friends are “happy to see them together, even though it did catch a lot of them off guard.”

In fact, Us Weekly reported on September 7 that Hadid wasn’t interested in DiCaprio romantically, although he was interested in her. “Leo does have his sights set on Gigi, but she hasn’t shown an interest,” a source said. “They’re friends, but she doesn’t want to be romantic with [him] right now.”

Hadid apparently changed her mind over the past couple weeks. A source close to DiCaprio told E! on September 15 that the two weren’t exclusive. “Gigi is having fun with it,” the source said. “She is not interested in anything serious.”

Multiple sources echoed that to People in a report published yesterday. A film source said, “[They] like each other and are having a good time.”

An entertainment source added that DiCaprio “is taken with Gigi. She is the type of woman he is usually attracted to.”
