Delta Police Kill Suspected Criminal, Arrest Two Others – Nigerian Observer
Warri – Policemen from the Delta State Police Command on Tuesday, August 2, said a suspected armed robber identified as Japhethas succumbed to the police superior fire power , while other two were arrested.
NIGERIAN OBSERVER learnt that, Japhet, who has been in the wanted list of the police, was killed around 10:30p.m by men of Rapid Response Squad attached to 74, Anwai-Illah road, Oshimili South Local Government Area of the state
According to a statement signed by Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Bright Edafe, the suspect who was shot during a gun duel,died in the hospital where he was rushed to for medical attention.
A locally fabricated beretta pistol with two [2] 9mm live ammunition and one Qlink motorcycle with reg no. WKP 270 QW abandoned by the other gang members were recovered according to the statement.
The statement also affirmed the arrest of two criminal suspects, Precious Azuka and Isaac Dantala on the early hours of that Tuesday, August 2 and Sunday, July 31, 2022.
While Azuka was arrested in a robbery act at Dominion Hotel’s & Suit in Umunede, Dantala was arrested for snatching a motorcycle along St Desmond road, Okpanam with a dagger.
The statement claimed the recovery of a locally made cut-to-size gun from Azuka and the snatched motorcycle with reg no UDD 332 DH alongside a dagger from Dantala.
The Police further said, that, investigation is ongoing.
