On Saturday, Taylor Swift arrived at the Beacon Theater in New York City to attend the screening of her short film, the music video for her extended version of “All Too Well” at the Tribeca Film Festival. The film is Swift’s directorial debut and she offered viewers a talk back called “A Conversation with Taylor Swift” about her process and plans for the future at the event.
When she arrived, fans on the outside of the theater space were waiting to see her, and Swift stopped to wave to the crowd. She wore a sleeveless navy pinstriped vest and matching wide-legged pants over a pair of red pumps with sparkling buckles. Swift’s lipstick was in a shade of red to match her shoes, and she left her long blonde hair down her back.
The music video stars actors Sadie Sink, of Stranger Things, and Dylan O’Brien, and it made waves when it premiered in November 2021. The song is rumored to be about Swift’s brief relationship with actor Jake Gyllenhaal and there were a number of moments in the music video that mirror the film star’s history and style. Swift also appears in the video, playing the older version of Sink’s character.
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively were there for the event to support their friend. Lively directed a music video for Swift’s new recordings of her old material, helming the creative direction for “I Bet You Think About Me.”
Swift made an appearance on Late Night With Seth Meyers and said she likes working with people she has a personal connection to.
“I like working with friends or people who I think would be excited about working with me,” she said. “I’ve never made a short film before. I needed to reach out to people who would maybe believe that I was capable with it. I’m just blown away by what they did — they went out and left it all on the field.”
Swift added that she always saw O’Brien and Sink in the roles in her film and if Sink in particular hadn’t been interested in the project, she might not have made it at all. Swift is currently dating actor Joe Alwyn, who she has been connected to since October of 2016.
