Obaseki pays tribute to late Imasogie, hails contribute to devt of Edo – Nigerian Observer

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has paid glowing tributes to the late philosopher, preacher, Baptist minister and scholar, Prof. Osadolor Imasogie, describing him as a great bridge builder who contributed immensely to the development of mankind.

Obaseki, who led his Chief of Staff, Hon. Osaigbovo Iyoha and other top government functionaries to commiserate with the family of late Prof. Imasogie, said the late philosopher touched many lives while here on earth and will be sorely missed.

The governor noted, “I am here to commiserate with the Imasogie family over the passing of the patriarch of the family, late Rev. Prof. Osadolor Imasogie, who touched many lives while here on earth.

“Late Rev. Prof. Osadolor Imasogie was an institution, a point of reference and represented a bridge for this generation. He was an exceptional person and contributed to the development of mankind.”

He further stated, “He was learned in culture, tradition, scripture, academics, and was always a reference point. We thank God for longevity; there is nothing more to ask for. He lived a fulfilled life. It’s for us to celebrate his life, celebrate what he lived for because he lived for God; he lived for Christ.

“Papa left a whole community behind. As a state, we have lost a great man and we will miss him dearly. We will always remember him.”

Speaking on behalf of the family, the eldest son of the deceased, Mr. Eghosa Imasogie said their father lived an exemplary life and has positively impacted the lives of several others while on earth.

He noted that his death is a loss not only to the family, but to the society, state, and nation at large.
