Three arrested over disappearance of Circle phone dealer Terry Dinero
Police have reportedly arrested 3 suspects in connection with the disappearance of phone dealer Nana Yaw Kyere, popularly known as Terry Dinero, who has been missing for several days after travelling to Teshie for a business transaction.
Terry, a well-known phone dealer at Kwame Nkrumah Circle, is said to have travelled to Teshie in his Honda Civic to meet a friend and conclude a phone business deal.
He has not since returned, while his vehicle has also reportedly been found in connection with the incident.
Concern over his whereabouts intensified after a series of unusual WhatsApp messages were sent from his phone around midnight on Sunday.
An associate said one of the messages claimed that Terry had been “set up” by a girl in a room at Teshie. The message reportedly included a photograph of the room as well as Terry’s live location.
However, the associate became suspicious because the language and manner of communication in the messages appeared different from Terry’s usual style.
Another message was sent from the phone at about 3:00 a.m., claiming that Terry had been released.
Further suspicion arose when the associate later discovered that the photograph of the room and the live location shared during the midnight exchange had both been deleted from the WhatsApp conversation.
Terry’s family has confirmed that he did not return home after travelling to Teshie, while efforts to contact him on his phone have so far been unsuccessful.
His disappearance has since triggered concern among relatives, friends, colleagues and fellow phone dealers at the Circle, who are seeking information about his whereabouts.
The arrest of the 3 suspects is expected to assist investigators in establishing the circumstances surrounding Terry’s disappearance and determining what happened to him.
