Amenfi Central MP Joana Gyan Cudjoe ends relationship with KECHE

Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, Joana Gyan Cudjoe, has announced the end of her seven-year professional relationship with music duo KECHE.

In a statement issued on Monday, August 31, 2026, through GEM Multimedia Ghana Ltd, Ms Gyan Cudjoe said the relationship, which began in 2019, ended following the expiration of the agreement between the parties.

She said she had decided not to renew or continue the arrangement, bringing to an end her role as investor, manager and executive producer of KECHE.

“KECHE GLOBAL is no longer under the management, representation, investment or business operations of Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe or GEM MULTIMEDIA GHANA LTD,” the statement said.

The announcement means KECHE, made up of Andrew Kofi Cudjoe, known as Keche Andrew, and Joshua Kojo Ampah, will now operate independently and determine its own management, investors, business partners and other professional relationships.

Ms Gyan Cudjoe stressed that the decision should not be interpreted as a fallout between the parties.

“There is no fight, hatred, bitterness or controversy,” she said, describing the move as “simply the closing of one professional chapter and the beginning of new chapters for everyone.”

Seven years of investment
According to the statement, Ms Gyan Cudjoe served as executive producer of KECHE from 2019 and invested significant financial and other resources into the group’s career.

Her support covered music production and recording, music videos, marketing, promotion, branding, artist development, photography, travel, performances and management.

The statement said her involvement went beyond financial investment, with Ms Gyan Cudjoe also providing leadership, industry relationships and personal support to the group.

She said she supported KECHE because she believed in the duo’s talent and wanted to help take their music beyond Ghana.

During the period, KECHE released songs including Odo, Today, Same Girl featuring Akwaboah, No Dulling featuring Kuami Eugene, Good Mood featuring Fameye, Faya featuring Epixode, Party of the Year featuring Mr Drew, Kiss, Papapa featuring Lasmid, Maame and Enjoy Life.

KECHE GLOBAL to continue independently
The statement also explained that the group’s name was changed from KECHE to KECHE GLOBAL during Ms Gyan Cudjoe’s involvement, as part of an effort to position the group for a wider African and international audience.

“The name KECHE GLOBAL has now become their identity,” she said, adding that she was happy to see the name continue.

Despite the end of the business relationship, Ms Gyan Cudjoe said her personal ties with the duo would remain.

Keche Andrew is her husband, while Keche Joshua remains part of the group.

“This announcement is not about ending their marriage, family or personal relationship,” the statement said.

“It is only a decision to end their professional business relationship and allow everyone to focus on their respective paths.”

She also urged fans to continue supporting KECHE GLOBAL through streaming, attending their performances, watching their music videos and supporting their future projects.

Focus shifts to new projects
Ms Gyan Cudjoe said the experience had given her lessons in music, entertainment, management, production, marketing, international business and partnerships.

She is now turning her attention to new artists, music projects, investments and other opportunities through GEM Multimedia Ghana Ltd.

“After seven years with KECHE, Hon. Joana is now focusing her energy, experience and resources on: New projects, New talent, New music, New investments [and] New opportunities,” the statement said.

On the future of the duo, Ms Gyan Cudjoe said KECHE GLOBAL would be responsible for its own direction, while she would focus on her separate business and entertainment interests.

“Everyone is free to choose their own partners and direction,” she said.

In her final message to the two musicians, Ms Gyan Cudjoe thanked them for the years of collaboration and wished them success in their next chapter.

“The business relationship has ended. The professional partnership has ended. But the respect remains. The love remains. The family remains,” she said.
