The Real Reason Photos of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Were Deleted From Kim and Kris’s Instagram Posts

THE RUNDOWN

  • Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attended Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday party on Saturday.
  • Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner posted photos of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex inside the party, then quickly removed them from Instagram.
  • Days later, People and TMZ reported on the real reason why they were taken down.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry spent their Saturday night attending two major Los Angeles events: the Baby2Baby Gala, then Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday party, held at Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos’s Beverly Hills home. The couple briefly appeared in photos from inside the party that Kris Jenner and Kim Kardashian shared on Instagram.

Fans noticed that the shots of Meghan and Harry were later deleted from those posts. People now knows why: The outlet learned that Meghan and Harry had not consented to photos of them at the party being shared. The couple checked “no” on a photo consent form, the outlet reported.

TMZ also got intel on the photo deletion, revealing the shots of Meghan and Harry weren’t the only ones removed from the carousels. The event coincided with Remembrance Sunday in the U.K., TMZ noted, writing, “We’re told they thought it might be better to delete the images rather than push something that could get picked up and misconstrued across the pond.”

Remembrance Day is observed on November 11 to honor military members who died in the line of duty; Veterans Day is celebrated in the U.S. on the same date to honor those who have served.

Meghan and Harry were photographed by paparazzi arriving at Jenner’s party, and a source told People that “they arrived hand-in-hand and looked very happy. Meghan was glowing in a black wrap-style dress that showed off one leg. She looked very glamorous and fit the [007 James Bond] theme perfectly. Harry looked sharp in a tuxedo with a poppy for Remembrance Day.”

Harry and Meghan haven’t commented on the party or the deleted photos. Meghan last posted on Instagram for Veterans Day, sharing footage of Harry being interviewed while he was serving in the British Army. Duty called, and he abruptly left the discussion to join his troop.

She wrote, “As my husband says, ‘Once served. Always serving.’ Thank you to all who served, sacrificed, and continue to serve. Honoring you on Veterans Day. And every day.”

This marks the first big Kardashian-Jenner event that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have publicly attended.
