THE RUNDOWN
- Gilmore Girls’ Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham had a reunion at the 2025 Emmys.
- The two actresses are presenters at tonight’s ceremony.
- Bledel and Graham have both recently spoken about the series and its impact on them.
Gilmore Girls fans got a big treat at tonight’s Emmys: Series stars Alexis Bledel and Lauren Graham reunited on the red carpet, having been tapped to present together at the 2025 ceremony. (Deadline noted that they were chosen because the show is celebrating its 25th anniversary.) Bledel wore a strapless silver sequined gown, while Graham dressed in a black gown with floral cut-outs.
In January, Graham spoke on The Tonight Show about whether she’d be open to reprising her role as Lorelai again. “Yes. I always say ‘yes’ because it’s the best part I’ve ever had,” she said. “And I loved doing it. It’s just that thing where it was the perfect material at the perfect time with the perfect writer, and it just means so much to me. I will say it…can be strange at times because on the one hand, some people are starting to say, like, ‘You raised me.’ And I’m like, ‘I hope there were other adults involved.’ And then on the other hand, people are like, ‘Oh, I just have the show on in the background. It puts my dog to sleep. We just—we’re not even listening anymore. It’s just on like background music.’”
Bledel, meanwhile, spoke to People in November 2022 about what attracted her to playing Rory. “I remember reading the pilot script and immediately identifying with this character that was so different from any other young women on television at the time,” she said. “Kind of instantly having a take on her. It’s the rare case when you have something so well drawn out that you can connect to [it] that way.”
