Black Doves Season 3: Everything We Know So Far

2 min read

Warning: Spoilers for Black Doves season 2.

Black Doves is the latest spy thriller gracing our television screens, this time with Keira Knightley stepping into tactical gear. Knightley stars in the Netflix show as Helen Webb, a highly lethal agent in the Black Doves organization responsible for trading government secrets—but things only become more complicated in season 2 when her husband, Wallace, becomes the prime minister of the United Kingdom.

Fans were left on the edge of their seats when Wallace finally asked her who she really is after putting the safety of her family over her devotion to the organization, but will she actually tell him? And will the show receive a third season? Here’s what we know so far.

Netflix has not confirmed if Black Doves will receive a third season. The streaming giant typically waits until the first few weeks after the show’s release to announce if a show has been granted a renewal.

Fans are hopeful that Knightley and Ben Whishaw will return as the show’s central duo, in addition to their fellow recurring cast members Sarah Lancashire (Reed), Kathryn Hunter (Lenny Lines), Ella Lily Hyland (Williams), Gabrielle Creevy (Eleanor), and Agnes O’Casey (Dani). Season 2 saw the arrivals of Ambika Mod (Laila), Babou Ceesay (Mr. Conteh), Sam Riley (Patrick), Sylvia Hoeks (Katia Chernov), Goran Kostic (Alexi Chernov), and Samuel Barnett (Jerry).

There are no plot details for season 3 yet, but the finale gave fans plenty to hope for in a potential next season, due to its many bombshells.

Katia (Hoeks) is revealed to be Vita, the long-lost daughter of Mrs. Reed, the leader of the Black Doves. Believing she was abandoned, she tries to take down the Black Doves organization as a whole and attempts to force Helen to kill Wallace during a standoff, but this plan backfires—agents quickly swoop in and kill her, and in her final moments, she tells Reed that she loves her. As a consequence, Helen kills her family’s nanny, Marie (Chesworth), after finding out she worked alongside Vita to endanger her kids.

Sam leaves Helen and heads back to Italy in the pursuit of a quieter life after settling his debt to Patrick, leaving the status of their platonic relationship unclear. Patrick still poses a threat to the Black Doves organization, and the fight with him will likely continue into a third season if the show is renewed.

Helen also nearly tells Wallace her true identity, but before she can, the credits roll.

Black Doves season 1 premiered on Netflix in December 2024, with season 2 arriving in November 2026. Season 3 could arrive in fall or early winter of 2028 if it follows the same release schedule. We’ll have to wait for official news from Netflix.
