Will There Be a Nobody Wants This Season 4? Here’s What We Know
Spoilers for Nobody Wants This season 3 below.
Three seasons into Nobody Wants This, Joanne (Kristen Bell) and Noah (Adam Brody) have finally reached the altar—or, more accurately, a Malibu beach. But does their wedding also mark the end of the series?
The third season, which premiered on Netflix on October 22, sees the couple scrap their carefully planned nuptials and exchange vows shortly after Joanne completes her conversion to Judaism.
It’s a significant development for a couple whose differences have driven much of the series since its 2024 debut. But while Joanne and Noah have settled one major question about their future, plenty of others remain unanswered. Morgan (Justine Lupe), Sasha (Timothy Simons), and Esther (Jackie Tohn), in particular, have some unfinished business.
So, does the season 3 finale mark the end of Nobody Wants This, or is there another chapter ahead? Here’s everything we know about a potential fourth season.
Has Nobody Wants This been renewed for season 4?
Not yet. As of October 26, Netflix has not announced whether Nobody Wants This will return for a fourth season.
That doesn’t necessarily mean the series is ending. Netflix has previously waited until after a season’s premiere to announce its renewal. Season 2 debuted on Oct. 23, 2025, and the streamer confirmed season 3 less than two weeks later, on November 4.
Series creator Erin Foster, meanwhile, has expressed interest in continuing the story.
In an October 23 interview with Parade, Foster discussed the possibilities for Joanne and Noah after their wedding, drawing on her own experience of getting married at 37.
“There’s those next steps as people who are not in their twenties, getting married and you’re starting off already kind of behind everyone else,” she said. “I experienced that when I got married; I was 37, and it’s a different experience. So, yeah, I do think that there’s more story to tell.”
Still, Foster isn’t assuming another season is guaranteed. She explained that she prefers to consider how audiences respond rather than commit to a particular outcome.
“I never want to have a show that goes on longer than people want to see it. I’d rather people want more than want less,” she told the outlet.
For now, the decision rests with Netflix.
What could season 4 be about?
The third season gives Joanne and Noah a relatively conclusive ending, but their wedding also introduces a different stage of their relationship.
After getting engaged in episode 4, the couple spends much of the season trying to plan a ceremony that accommodates their families, particularly Noah’s opinionated mother, Bina (Tovah Feldshuh). Eventually, they decide to marry on their own terms, exchanging vows on the beach after Joanne’s mikvah, the ritual immersion that completes her conversion to Judaism.
Their marriage could provide the starting point for season 4, especially given Foster’s comments about the challenges of starting a family later in life. The show has already introduced the possibility of children for Joanne and Noah, although no future storyline has been confirmed.
There is also the matter of their families finding out about the wedding. In her Parade interview, Foster suggested that Bina would be particularly upset to discover that the ceremony she had spent so much time organizing happened without her.
Then there’s the considerably more complicated situation between Morgan, Sasha, and Esther.
After separating from Esther at the end of season 2, Sasha grows closer to Morgan, and the two eventually sleep together during a trip to New York. But their potential romance stalls when Sasha admits he isn’t ready for another serious relationship. He subsequently reconnects with Esther, and the former spouses sleep together as well.
By the finale, both women know about Sasha’s involvement with the other, leaving the three characters without a clear resolution.
Ahead of the season 3 premiere, Tohn spoke to ELLE about Esther’s relationship with Sasha and whether the two might eventually reconcile.
“I think Sasha and Esther get back together, but I have no idea. I’m not in the writers’ room,” she said.
Tohn also acknowledged that audiences are divided over whom Sasha should end up with, having seen fans advocate for both Esther and Morgan.
For her part, Lupe has welcomed the growing interest in Morgan and Sasha’s relationship. In an October 22 interview with WWD, the actress discussed why she thinks viewers have connected with the unlikely pairing.
“I think people gravitate toward things that are a little bit more strange sometimes, and it’s nice to be representing the black sheep or the underdogs or the loser siblings,” she said.
Whether Sasha ultimately pursues Morgan, reunites with Esther, or chooses neither remains to be seen. But unlike Joanne and Noah’s marriage, that storyline has yet to reach a definitive conclusion.
When could Nobody Wants This season 4 premiere?
Without an official renewal, Netflix has not announced a release date or production timeline for season 4.
All three seasons of Nobody Wants This are currently streaming on Netflix.
This story will be updated.
