2027: BTO Group targets 90% Ondo votes

AKURE — A support group for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, BTO For PBAT ’27, has unveiled a grassroots mobilisation strategy aimed at securing 90 per cent of presidential votes in Ondo State for the president.
The group said its mobilisation would focus on grassroots organisation, voter education, political reconciliation and sustained engagement across the state’s 18 local government areas, 203 wards and 3,933 polling units.
Its Director-General, Ogbeni Adojutelegan Adesuyi Gideon, described the 90 per cent target as the group’s political objective, stressing that achieving it would require sustained engagement with party members, community leaders, youths, women and other eligible voters.
The group identified the Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, as its Grand Patron and principal sponsor, citing his political support and guidance.
Adojutelegan said the group had established a network of coordinators and community-based organisers across the state, adding that its ward-to-ward mobilisation programme was launched in Okitipupa in January 2026.
He said the next phase of the programme would include voter education, Permanent Voter Cards, PVC, awareness campaigns, stakeholder meetings and engagements with youths and women.
He added that the group would also seek to resolve internal disagreements among APC members as part of its mobilisation efforts.
According to Adojutelegan, the organisation would communicate its political positions and information on government programmes through its local coordinators while working with APC leaders and other support groups.
The group also cited Tunji-Ojo’s Ondo Community Connect initiative, claiming that the programme had registered 800 communities, assessed the needs of 110 communities and delivered interventions in 74 communities as of September 2026.
It further said it intended to highlight what it described as reforms at the Ministry of Interior, including the digitisation of passport services and changes in immigration and correctional services, during its community engagements.
On the 90 per cent target, Adojutelegan said the figure was an electoral objective rather than a prediction of the eventual election result.
He said the group would support APC’s duly nominated candidates in other elections and work with party stakeholders to promote unity ahead of the 2027 polls.
“Our priorities are to sustain our structures, strengthen coordination and continue community engagement. The 90 per cent target will remain the central objective of our 2027 activities in Ondo State,” he said.
The group acknowledged that the eventual outcome of the 2027 presidential election would be determined by votes cast by eligible voters in Ondo State.
