Accra: Fire destroys apartment in Tabora Alhaji


Personal belongings in a chamber and hall self-contained apartment at Tabora Alhaji in Accra have been completely destroyed after a fire broke out at the property.
The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said firefighters from the Industrial Area Fire Station swiftly responded to a distress call and prevented the blaze from spreading to adjoining apartments.
Eight adjoining chamber and hall rooms were successfully salvaged during the operation, with no further property lost.
“Firefighters arrived at the scene and found a chamber and hall self-contained apartment engulfed in fire,” the GNFS said in a statement issued on Monday, September 7.
The service noted that although personal belongings in the affected apartment were completely destroyed, the swift intervention ensured that no additional property was lost.
“The blaze was quickly contained, preventing further spread and resulting in the successful salvage of eight adjoining chamber and hall rooms,” the GNFS added.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, according to a report by the Public Relations Officer of the Greater Accra Region.
