  • Travis Kelce spoke about his wife, Taylor Swift, in a new interview— one of his first since their July 3 wedding.
  • He gushed about her style, calling her “effortless, elegant, and beautiful.”
  • The Kansas City Chiefs player also debuted their dog in his new Tommy Hilfiger campaign.

Travis Kelce kicked off his Tommy Hilfiger ambassador era today—and did more than just debut the dog he and Taylor Swift share, a Samoyed rumored to be named Wendy, per Forbes, in the campaign. The Kansas City Chiefs player also spoke to Vogue about his wife, marking one of his first comments about her since their July 3 wedding.

The outlet asked about his impression of her style, and he had an adoring response. “I love that Tay’s always authentically herself with every look,” he said. “Whether we’re hanging with some friends or just us two on a fun night out for dinner, she’s always effortless, elegant, and beautiful. She’s not afraid of unique patterns or bold colors, and she’s just timeless and classy in everything she steps out in.”

He also shared his own approach to fashion. “My style interest started when I was a kid, through my love for sports,” he explained. “The basketball shoes, the Ken Griffey Jrs, even Wayne Gretzky’s style in the late ’90s, when he teamed up with Nike. There are so many athletes I could name. Deion Sanders is another. He had so much swagger in how he dressed and presented himself. I think that’s where the interest started, and I’m a bit of a chameleon, you know? I kind of take bits and pieces from everybody and everything that I see, and just kind of change things around depending on which situation I’m in and what event I’m going to.”

He enjoys dressing up, he added, “from throwing on some wacky stuff to some really slick stuff.”

Swift and Kelce haven’t done any events together since their wedding and have remained mostly out of the public eye. On August 14, a source spoke to People about their life as newlyweds, though, saying they “feel really grateful.”

“They’re both just so excited that they’re husband and wife now,” the insider said. “Their relationship feels even more special. They’re both always working, creating, or thinking about what comes next. And they love living like this. They both feel really grateful for everything they have. They’re very happy.”
